Theatrical trailer for one of the screen’s finest science-fiction films, Howard Hawks’ THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD (1951), starring Kenneth Tobey, Margaret Sheridan and Robert Cornwaithe. Former editor Christian Nyby received his first directorial credit for the film, although he readily admitted in interviews that Hawks — for whom Nyby worked as editor on RED RIVER (1948) — was the film’s “guiding hand”. Though James Arness played the title creature, it was stuntman Tom Steele who doubled for him in the film’s memorable fire scene. I like this song and decided to put it with a bunch of pictures I found on Stumble, Google and Photobucket. I do not claim any credit for most of the pictures or any of the music, just the editing of the thing. I hope you like it. Pictures I took: 00.13 01.23 Picture Tiffany took: 00.33 Dedication: Anyone who has loved, and lost, and is alone. Edit: Apparently it’s by Gregory and the Hawk, not The Scene Aesthetic.
